Reasons Why Your Tire Pressure Light is Illuminated

The tire pressure in your car's tires can have a negative impact on the ride of your vehicle and the life of those tires. Here are a few things to consider if you do not have the tire pressure within the recommended range.

When the tires are overinflated, air causes the tire to expand so that the car is rising basically on the center only. This will not only wear the tread in that one area faster, it will become difficult to steer the vehicle on wet roads. Low air pressure indicates too much tread is coming in contact with the road and increasing friction. That added heat wears the tread a lot faster and could cause the tire to blowout at higher speeds.

If you see uneven tire wear on the treads or the pressure indicators stay illuminated, come to our Audi service center in Irondale so we can inspect the tires and make certain the pressure is correct.
